The CrossFit Games 2021 are on the horizon, and many of the participants are incredibly excited. Besides the usual competitions like the men's, women's events will also take place. You've heard of the Reebok equipment, the Pegboard contest and the Cutting system. But do you know what to expect from the women's competition? Continue reading to learn more! Don't forget the CrossFit news page to get the latest information about the competition.
Women's competition
This morning, the women's competition began at the 2021 Crossfit Games with the swim event. Jonne Koski was the winner in the first race. Tia Clair Toomey Orr was also victorious. Koski took the overall title after she held her lead through the entire competition. Tall and Eramooo O’Connell came second and three respectively. It was the first Games event by women. The women's side wanted to complete the podium.
The women’s competition is populated with high-level competitors. The field features nine athletes, including a 19 year-old Australian powerhouse who won this competition last year. Kara Saunders, an Australian athlete who finished second in Australia in the team division and eleventh overall in 2020 is another contender. Andrea Nisler is another rising star. She competed in the team category in 2018 and placed third in the United States, and 15th overall in 2020. Aside from these athletes, the Women’s competition will also include a newcomer, Sara Sigmundsdottir, an Icelandan competitor, who won first place at the World Crossfit Games earlier.
Pegboard contest
The Pegboard contest at the Crossfit Games 2021 was a first. It was added to Crossfit Games' summer Olympic program alongside double-unders & dumbbell overhead Squats. Toomey-Orr won 30 of the Games' most events, setting a new record. Sager won Event 11 men's and received his third Games win. There were several ties in the contest, but Toomey-Orr's dominance was not enough to keep him out of the win.

CrossFit Games training involves focusing on ten basic physical fitness skills: endurance, strength flexibility power speed and agility. Pegboard competition tests competitors' grip strength, coordination, and speed. Two wooden pegs are held between the hands of each competitor to gauge their grip strength. The competition was fierce and the athletes felt a sense accomplishment after finishing the Pegboard.
Cutting system
The CrossFit Games will once again employ a cutting system for the individual competition. It's not as extreme as the cuts used in past Games, but still very different than this year. The competition has 15 individual events. Therefore, it's likely that the first cut of 30 athletes will occur after the seventh or eight event. CrossFit's decision on how to adjust the points distributed after cuts remains a question. The scoring table used to determine the winners in the 2019 games was very similar to the one used to determine the losers in 2021. This is why it's most likely that the current system will be used.
The CrossFit Games' largest ever field, consisting of 236 athletes this year, is the largest ever. The first six events result in major cuts. The field then drops to 75 athletes. The top 30 then compete in a sprint couplet to determine the top ten. From there, the top twenty athletes compete in the six remaining events. Castro's system was strongly criticised by former Games participants, who felt that cuts were too substantial.
Reebok's equipment
Reebok announces new CrossFit Games clothing, shoes and other equipment. The Nano X1 is the new shoe. They are built to accommodate multiple fitness needs. Although Reebok calls this shoe "the shoe for fitness", it feels more like a training shoe. DuPont's Kevlar, which promotes durability, breathability, and strength, is the shoe's upper. The shoe's responsiveness can be enhanced by its firm midsole and RopePro Tech.

Reebok's contract with CrossFit will end at the end of 2020, and the Games will be without a title sponsor. Reebok has sponsored these Games for over a decade. However, it now appears that the company's involvement in the Games is decreasing. Reebok won't be funding the Games' prize fund, but will continue making all athletic apparel and equipment worn athletes by, including the Reebok gear. The company won't refer to itself as "Reebok crossfit games" anymore.

How Metabolic Health is Key to Aging Well
People live longer lives than ever before. However, people are getting sicker as they live longer. Our current medical science approach is not working, even though we've made many advances.
We have to change how we see health and aging. To achieve healthy aging, we must look at metabolic health as more than just weight loss. It is also important to consider overall wellness.
Your metabolism must be strong and healthy to ensure you live an active lifestyle for many years to come.
There are many methods to improve your metabolic state. One of those ways is to incorporate these 7 foods into your diet:

Resveratrol has been proven to increase cellular longevity. They also provide antioxidants and vitamins C & E.
-
Lentils and pinto beans, which are legumes, provide great fiber and plant-based sources of protein. These nutrients help to keep blood sugar levels constant so they don't spike and crash.
-
Broccoli is rich in sulforaphane. Studies have shown that it protects cells from DNA damage. It may even be able to slow down cancer progression.
-
Chia Seeds have high levels of omega-3 fatty oils and fiber. They are rich in protein and antioxidants. All of these nutrients can promote heart health and brain function as well as gut health.
-
Green Tea is rich in polyphenols known as catechins. Green tea catechins have been shown to reduce bone fractures, heart disease, cognitive decline, diabetes risk, and other health issues.
-

Do I have to do it every day?
No! Get at least 30 minutes of moderate-intensity physical activity 5 days a week. That could mean walking fast enough for you to get slightly out of breath and biking hard enough for you to sweat.
Can I go to the gym 7 days a week?
You can go to your gym seven days a semaine, but not simultaneously. You need to find a time that you are able to do this without feeling exhausted or drained.
This will keep you motivated and provide energy for other activities.
You also need to ensure that you eat well enough during these times. This will ensure you don’t feel tired and sluggish going to the gym.
Last, you must make sure that there isn’t another thing competing for your attention. If you have children, it is a good idea to avoid going to school on the evenings as they can distract from your workout.

What nutrients does a man require daily?
Daily nutrition is essential for men's healthy growth. Vitamins, minerals, vitamins, nutrients, carbohydrates, fats and fiber are all essential for the body.
The male body also requires specific nutrients at different times throughout the day. To give you an example, the body uses energy it receives from food to make hormones and antibodies. When you get up, protein is used to repair and build muscle.
At night, your body breaks down fat and stores the extra energy as glycogen. Your body has less energy but still requires enough nutrients during this time. You can have a snack at night if you feel hungry.
You need to eat enough carbs and protein when you exercise. If you exercise hard, you might feel muscle soreness.
To prevent this, you must consume carbs and protein within 2 hours of training. Your body will break down stored glycogen to provide glucose for energy.
Also, protein must be consumed immediately after your workouts. This prevents muscle tissue loss that happens while you sleep.
Your body makes lactic acid when you are doing intense physical activities. It is a form of lactic acid that builds up in the bloodstream. This causes fatigue. Avoid this by eating foods rich in carbohydrates such as fruits or vegetables.
Carbohydrates provide energy for your body to recover after strenuous exercise.
Your diet may include lean meats like fish, eggs, milk cheese, yogurt or beans as well as lean proteins such as fish, eggs, egg yolks, cheese, yogurt, bean, peanuts and seeds.
These foods all contain high-quality proteins. Protein is important for muscle growth and repair. It provides amino acids that your body needs in order to produce sexhormones and testosterone.
To maintain healthy skin, hair, and joints, you also need sufficient dietary fats. Healthy men need between 20% - 35% of the total caloric intake to be fat.
Fat helps keep your heart strong and protects against cancer. It also keeps your brain functioning properly.
You can get the majority of the fats that you need from vegetable oils such as soybean oil.
These oils are high in monounsaturated fatty acids (MUFAs). MUFAs lower cholesterol and decrease inflammation. They also protect your cells from damage caused by free radicals.
Saturated fats (SFAs) are found mostly in animal products like meat, dairy products, and butter. SFAs can increase LDL ("bad") cholesterol as well as triglycerides. They promote weight gain as well as belly fat.
Polyunsaturated oil (PUFAs), which are plant-based, can be found in vegetable oils, nuts seeds, grains, and other plant-based products. PUFAs are good for your heart health and help to reduce inflammation. They also reduce blood sugar, cholesterol, and other inflammatory factors.
Erectile dysfunction is common in men with low HDL ("good") cholesterol. A high intake of saturated fats leads to higher levels of bad cholesterol.
Red meat and pork are a common source of prostate problems in men who eat a lot. Nitrites convert to nitrosamines when cooked at high temperatures. These compounds can cause lung cancer.
Most processed meats contain nitrites or other harmful chemicals. They should be avoided.
The American Heart Association suggests that no more than two servings per week of red meat should be consumed. Instead, choose poultry or fish, beans, tofu and whole grain bread.
