
CrossFit Games 2021 is nearing and many participants are excited. There will be women's competitions in addition to the regular men's and women's competitions. Women are competing
The women's competition at the 2021 Crossfit Games began this morning with the swim event. Jonne Koski and Tia-Clair Toomey Orr won the first event. Koski won the overall competition after maintaining her lead all the way. Tall finished second and Eramoo O’Connell third, respectively. It was the women's first event in the Games and the women's side was hoping to complete the podium.
The field is full of top-level athletes in the women's competition. The field includes nine athletes. One of them is a 19-year old powerhouse, who won the Australian competition last year. Other contenders are Australian athlete Kara Saunders, who finished second in Australia and eleventh worldwide in 2020. Andrea Nisler (who competed as a team in the 2018 division, finishing third in the United States and fifteenth overall for 2020) is another rising star. The Women's competition will feature these athletes as well as Sara Sigmundsdottir (an Icelandan competitor who won the first place medal at World Crossfit Games earlier last year).
Pegboard contest
The Pegboard contest at the Crossfit Games 2021 was a first. Along with dumbbell overhead squats and double-unders, it was included in the Games' summer Olympic programme. Toomey-Orr set the record for most wins in a single Games event with 30. Sager won Event 11 (for men) and was awarded his third Games win. While there were many tie-breakers, ToomeyOrr's dominance was enough to win the contest.

CrossFit Games training involves focusing on ten basic physical fitness skills: endurance, strength flexibility power speed and agility. The Pegboard contest tests a competitor's grip strength and coordination. Two wooden pegs are held between the hands of each competitor to gauge their grip strength. Cutting system
CrossFit Games will again use a cutting method for individual competition. The cuts are not as severe as those used in past Games but they are still very different. The competition consists of 15 individual events, so a first cut to 30 athletes is likely after the seventh or eighth event. One question that remains is how CrossFit will adjust the points distribution after cuts. It's probable that the scoring table used for the 2019 games will remain nearly the same as the one used in 2021.
This year's CrossFit Games Field includes 236 athletes. This is the largest field in its history. Major cuts are made at the six initial events. The field is reduced to 75 athletes. The top 30 finishers compete in a sprint pairt to determine who is the top ten. The top 20 athletes then compete in six more events. Castro's system was criticised by veteran Games participants, who felt that the cuts were too significant.
Reebok's equipment
Reebok announces new CrossFit Games clothing, shoes and other equipment. The Nano X1 shoes are the new model. They are made to meet multiple fitness needs.
