
CrossFit Games 2021 will be taking place in a few weeks and many CrossFit Games participants are very excited. Other than the traditional CrossFit Games, events for women will be held. Women are competing
The 2021 Crossfit Games' women's competition started this morning with the swim race. Jonne Koski, Tia-Clair Toomey Orr, and TiaClair Toomey Orr were the winners in the first event. After maintaining her lead throughout competition, Koski was declared the overall winner. Tall and Eramo O'Connell finished second and third, respectively. It was the first Games women's event and the women hoped to complete it.
The women's contest is filled with high-level athletes. The field comprises nine athletes, one of whom is a teenager who won the competition in Australia last summer. Other contenders are Australian athlete Kara Saunders, who finished second in Australia and eleventh worldwide in 2020. Andrea Nisler, a rising star who competed for the team division in 2018, finished third in America and fifteenth overall in 2020. These athletes will be joined by Sara Sigmundsdottir from Iceland, who was awarded the first place medal at the World Crossfit Games earlier in the year.
Pegboard contest
Pegboard competition at Crossfit Games 2021 was the first. It was added to Crossfit Games' summer Olympic program alongside double-unders & dumbbell overhead Squats. With 30 wins, Toomey-Orr holds the record for the most Games events won. Sager won Event 11 for the men and took home his third Games victory. There were several ties in the contest, but Toomey-Orr's dominance was not enough to keep him out of the win.

CrossFit Games training involves focusing on ten basic physical fitness skills: endurance, strength flexibility power speed and agility. The Pegboard contest tests a competitor's grip strength and coordination. The athletes compete on a scale by holding two wooden pegs between their hands. The competition was fierce and the athletes felt a sense accomplishment after finishing the Pegboard.
Cutting system
CrossFit Games will again use a cutting method for individual competition. This is not as extreme as past Games cuts, but it is very different this year. The competition has 15 individual events. Therefore, it's likely that the first cut of 30 athletes will occur after the seventh or eight event. CrossFit must also answer the question of how it will adjust the points following cuts. The scoring system used in 2019 was virtually identical to the 2021 one, so it is probable that this will continue.
This year's CrossFit Games field includes 236 athletes. It is the largest ever. Major cuts are made in the first six events. The field is then reduced to 75 athletes. The top 30 finishers compete in a sprint pairt to determine who is the top ten. The top 20 athletes will then compete in the six remaining events. Castro's system has been criticized by veterans Games athletes who feel that the cuts are too significant.
Reebok's equipment
Reebok announces new CrossFit Games clothing, shoes and other equipment. Nano X1 will be the new shoes. They are designed to suit multiple fitness requirements. Reebok claims this shoe is "the shoe that will fit all your fitness needs," but it's more like a regular training shoe. DuPont’s Kevlar material is used to make the upper of this shoe, which promotes breathability as well as durability. CrossFit's sponsorship contract with Reebok is ending at the end of 2020. There will not be a title sponsor for the Games. Reebok has sponsored these Games for over a decade. Reebok won't be funding the Games' prize fund, but will continue making all athletic apparel and equipment worn athletes by, including the Reebok gear. However, Reebok CrossFit Games will no longer be called the company.
